Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Brave — the browsers we test on. Other Chromium-based browsers can usually install it too, but we haven't tested them yet. Install it once and your new tab is replaced everywhere in that browser.

No. Your shortcuts, folders, notes, tasks and settings are stored in your browser's own storage on your device. If you sign in, your settings, shortcuts, notes and tasks are also saved to your account so they can sync — end-to-end encrypted in your browser first, so we can't read them. We do not run trackers on the new tab page and we never see your browsing history.

When you save a link as a shortcut, or type a web address into the search bar, TaboraX checks it with Google Cloud Web Risk. A shield in the search bar shows the result as you type. If the link looks like phishing, malware or unwanted software, you see a warning before it is saved or opened. It also warns about addresses made to look like a well-known site — paypa1.com instead of paypal.com, say — and shows where a short link (bit.ly and the like) really goes. No protection is perfect: some risky sites may not be flagged, and some safe sites may be flagged by mistake.

No. TaboraX checks the links you save as shortcuts and the addresses you type into its search bar, not every page you visit. For protection while browsing, keep your browser's built-in safe browsing turned on. In Chrome it is under Settings → Privacy and security → Security.

Yes. Choose "Add anyway". The warning is advice, not a block, because you know your own links best.

Only the new tab page changes. You choose which search engine the search bar uses, and your homepage and default search settings stay exactly as you had them.

Your browser removes the extension's local storage along with it. To keep your layout, export a backup first from Settings → General → Backup, and restore it later from the same place. If you're signed in, your synced shortcuts, settings and notes also come back when you sign in again.

Yes. Upload any image from your device, then dim or blur it to taste — the clock and icons switch to light or dark text so they stay readable. Or skip the photo and use the live sky, which follows the time of day, or one of its presets such as Dawn, Golden hour or Night.

Install TaboraX and open a new tab — it replaces the browser's own new tab page straight away. If the browser asks whether to keep the change, choose Keep it. To go back, turn TaboraX off on the extensions page (chrome://extensions, edge://extensions or brave://extensions).

Yes — there's no limit on shortcuts or folders. When a page fills up, shortcuts carry on to the next page — swipe, click the dots under the grid, or press the arrow keys to move between pages.

Yes. Sign in to the same TaboraX account on each computer, and your notes, to-do lists, shortcuts and settings follow you. Everything that syncs is end-to-end encrypted with a key made from your password, so only your own devices can read it.

Yes, with X Flux. Go to taborax.com/app.html and sign in: your synced shortcuts, notes, to-dos and saved tabs open in that browser, read-only. They're unlocked there with your password, never on our server, and nothing is kept on that computer — closing the page signs you out, and so do 30 quiet minutes.

Right-click the group in the side rail and choose Share this group. The link is copied: anyone with it sees the group's sites on taborax.com, and TaboraX users paste it under Add → A group someone shared to get their own copy. The link carries the key, so our server can't read what's in it. Change the group and choose Update the shared link, or Stop sharing to make the link stop working.

Yes. Choose Tabs in the side rail: every open tab of every window is listed there — search them, jump to one, close it, or close all the duplicates at once (free). With X Flow you can also Save this window's tabs and open them again all at once, in a new window or as a group of shortcuts; archive tabs you haven't opened for 3 days, keeping them searchable; and reopen what was open before the browser closed unexpectedly. The browser asks for permission to read your tabs the first time; pinned tabs and TaboraX itself always stay open.

Yes, free on every plan. Export from the other app — bookmarks from any browser, or an export from Arc, Pocket, OneTab, Toby, Session Buddy, Instapaper or Raindrop — then in TaboraX choose Add → From a file…. You see what was found and pick which folders to bring in; each becomes a group, and nothing you already have changes. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded.

Open Settings → Backup → Restore points. TaboraX keeps copies of your whole setup on your device — every day, after each update, and before an import, a restore or synced data replaces it — and one click puts any of them back. Your setup right before a restore is saved too, so a restore can be undone. You can also save one yourself, or export a backup file to keep elsewhere.

The weather widget uses your device's location, once you allow it, so it shows conditions where you actually are. You can turn it off completely if you would rather not show it.

The new tab is a small static page with no heavy libraries, so it paints almost instantly. The live sky is drawn by the page itself, so there are no background images to download.

Yes, during a focus session (X Flow). Open Notes → Timer, turn on Block distracting sites while focusing and list the sites. The first time, your browser asks to let TaboraX do this for just those sites. While the session runs they show a short reminder instead; when it ends, pauses or is reset, they open normally again.

A PIN for a computer the family shares (X Flow). Turn it on in Settings → Family: after that, settings, wallpaper, shortcuts, groups and the account ask for the PIN, and SafeSearch stays on. Opening sites, searching, notes and the timer work as usual. Forgot the PIN? Remove and reinstall TaboraX, then sign in to get your synced setup back.

Every plan is free until 31 December 2026. After that, X Spark stays free, X Flow is $12₹499NPR 499 a year and X Flux is $19₹1,499NPR 1,499 a year. To buy one, open your profile in TaboraX, sign in and choose Upgrade — pay by card, PayPal or, in Nepal, Khalti. Have a code? Choose Redeem code. Plans don't renew on their own. For a limited time, X Flux for life is one payment of $39₹2,999NPR 2,999 — no yearly renewal, ever. It's for the first 500 buyers, until 30 June 2027 at the latest. While places are left it's in TaboraX under Upgrade. The details are in our terms.

TaboraX speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Russian, Indonesian, Hindi, Nepali and Japanese. It follows your browser's language, or you can pick one in Settings → View → Language.

Open your profile, choose Manage and copy your link or code under Invite friends. When a friend creates an account with your code — at sign-up, or within their first week — you both get 30 free days of X Flow. Days earned during the launch offer start when it ends. You can earn rewards for up to 12 friends.

Open your profile in TaboraX, choose Manage, then Delete account. We email you a 6-digit code to confirm it's you. Once you enter it, your account and everything synced to it are removed and you're signed out everywhere. What's saved in your browser stays, so you can keep using TaboraX without an account.

Use the contact page and include your browser and version plus what you were doing when it happened. Bug reports usually get a reply the next working day.
